The Scottish Highlands is known for it’s dramatic landscapes. The beauty of the rugged terrain that is expressed is just awe inspiring. From hilly glens to hidden gems it invites exploration.
On our tours we often encourage guests to include an element that involves walking through one of the many beautiful locations. This allows full appreciation of both the landscape and nature that lives within. A favourite of ours is the very stunning Glencoe area. With it’s hilly backdrops and multi tonal shades of colour it makes the perfect half day to venture in this magnificent part of the world.
There are pre designed trails that you can follow that are for less strenuous to more intensive hikes, so you can choose based on your level of activity. One that appeals is the An Torr trail that has a distance of around 2Km and is regarded as an easier route. The path is a little steep in parts but this does not go on for long so allows for more of a less intensive hike. On this trail you will absorb the stunning surrounds, the woodland and you will be in the Glencoe National Nature Reserve so you may see a variety of wildlife.
We provide a full marked maps as part of the itinerary to assist you on the hike. It is so lovely after a mornings walk to find a quaint hillside restaurant for some lunch after your endeavour.
Good durable footwear is recommended for such hikes.
