Embrace the Landscape of the Lake District, the dramatic dales of Yorkshire and rich History of Derbyshire

Our luxury tour will depart from Manchester and we will head north to the enthralling landscapes of the Lake District. Our journey will then take us east to Yorkshire, then South to the countryside of Derbyshire before returning back to Manchester.

You will experience three very diverse counties of the UK that offer so much in terms of landscapes, history and culture.

The Lake District with it’s undulating mountains, shimmering lakes, dramatic fells and picturesque villages offering opportunities for adventure, exploration but also relaxation.

Yorkshire, England’s largest county where rich history and culture meet. Discover centuries of heritage in historic cities like York with it’s medieval streets and magnificent minster.

Grantley Hall has a number of exciting and acclaimed restaurants. Featuring the Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant where the freshest Yorkshire produce takes centre stage in inventive tasting menus. 

For a vibrant, Asian-inspired experience, Bar & Restaurant EightyEight offers a playful twist on classic dishes within a stylish setting.

For a sophisticated yet casual all-day dining that reimagines British Classics there is Fletchers restaurant to dine at. 

Callow Hall Hotel, Derbyshire

Nestled within 35 acres of picturesque gardens, wild meadows and ancient woodlands, Callow Hall offers a truly beautiful experience. This beautifully stored country house is a merge of home comfort with unique design.

The room selected is their lovely room, that offers a quintessential English stay. It has a quaint decor with pastel colour palettes and luxurious textiles inspired by the surrounding nature. A calming haven for a restful night’s sleep. 

Day 1

Arrival

Our luxury transport will be waiting to pick you up and will head North to the very picturesque Lake District. We will Check in to our hotel - Storrs Hall for the next 2 nights. You will have time to take in the surroundings of this beautiful hotel before dinner. Tonight you will dine at their Lake Edge restaurant that is set in the most enviable position overlooking Lake Windermere.
We will start the day with meeting our tour guide who will take us on a fascinating tour in and around the Lake District. You will see the home of the famous English poet William Wordsworth, considered one of the greatest poet's in recent times. Wander through the very rooms where some of his most profound poetry was conceived.

Afterwards we will head on to a Grasmere Gingerbread Shop that is known as a Grasmere legacy. Operating since 1852, Sarah Nelson's Grasmere Gingerbread shop is tucked away in the very cottage where Sarah Nelson invented her unique spicy-sweet gingerbread. Learn it's vast history and have a tasting too! The afternoon will be spent with some time to take in the town of Grasmere. Explore charming shops, have a bite to eat in one of the quaint eateries all set against a backdrop of breathtaking panoramic views.

The latter part of the afternoon will be spent on a wonderful private cruise along Lake Windermere.

Tour of Wensleydale Creamery, lunch & Grassington

Today we will Check out of Storrs Hall hotel and head towards Yorkshire. Our first stop will be to the famous cheesemaker, Wensleydale. A highly informative tour will follow where you will learn the process involved to make this iconic British cheese. You will get to sample the cheese too! The day will continue with a lunch at a traditional Yorkshire pub that will give you a real sense of the finest Yorkshire hospitality. The afternoon will be spent in the quintessential village of Grassington that feels straight out of a postcard. Wander through it's historic cobbled square, admire it's countryside charm and enjoy your time here. Tonight we will Check into the fabulous Grantley Hall

We will meet our tour guide in the historic city of York. You will begin will a private tour of the impressive York minster where you will learn about the vast history and architectural beauty. You will then have time to take in the Shambles, York’s most iconic and best preserved medieval street with it’s overhanging timber-framed buildings. Discover unique independent shops, selling everything from artisan crafts to quirky gifts. 

Lunch will follow with a tour of Clifford Tower, the largest surviving part of York Castle. Our guide will take you on a fascinating walk in and around the tower giving you insight of it’s architectural significance and association with William the Conqueror. There is also the tower’s crowning glory, the timber roof platform, that gives you 360-degree views over the city of York and beyond. The day will conclude with a walk along the city walls.

Helmsley & Whitby

Today we will head to the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park and to Helmsley, a lovely market town. Explore the dramatic ruins of Helmsley Castle, wander through the beauty of the Helmsley Walled Garden and discover unique treasures in it’s independent shops and art galleries. 

Next we will journey on to Whitby located on the North Yorkshire coast. Offering a captivating blend of maritime history, Gothic allure and traditional seaside charm there is so much to see & do. We will start with the iconic Fish & Chips at one of the award winning eateries, then we will meet our tour guide who will show you the true history of this wonderful charismatic town.

We will Check out of Grantley Hall and make our way to the quaint village of Castleton, Derbyshire. Our tour guide will meet us and take you on an underground tour of the Blue John mines. Descend into the world of a geological wonder, home to the incredibly rare and beautiful Blue John stone where you can see the breathtaking formations of stalactites and stalagmites that hang to the walls.

Afterwards we will head for lunch at a lovely country pub before continuing onto the pretty market town of Bakewell. Our tour guide will show you the wonderful sights of Bakewell including the Bakewell bridge that is considered one of the oldest in England and you will learn about it’s Anglo-Saxon origins. Famed also for The Bakewell pudding that is a must try too!

Tonight we will Check in to the countryside manor house Callow Hall. You will dine at the 2AA rosette Rafters restaurant in the quaint village of Ashford-in-the-Water this evening.

Chatsworth House, Lunch & Private Pottery Workshop

Our day will start with a fascinating tour of Chatsworth House. Discover the timeless grandeur of this stately home nestled in the heart of the Peak District. Step into centuries of history as you explore ornately decorated rooms, admire the esteemed art collections and wander through the stunning gardens featuring a Victorian rock garden, a maze and impressive water displays.

Afterwards we will continue on for lunch in the beautiful Derbyshire landscape surrounded by rolling hills.

We will then try our hand with one of Derbyshire’s most iconic associations; Pottery. You will enjoy the fun endeavour to manipulate clay using techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction to create a variety of forms.

We offer a very convenient service, we will provide a chauffeur driven vehicle to collect you from the airport or pickup point of your choosing.

Everything included in the tour is listed above under What’s included. Each tour is different but Luxury transport throughout, breakfast & accommodation is always included, so are the days out and activities that we mention for each tour. Lunch or Dinner mentioned will be included in this section but other Lunch & Dinner is not included.

At first, if you are interested in one of our tours, is speak to our team. Check that you are happy with the tour and would like to proceed. We will look to take a small deposit and then the remainder will be due a little closer to the date of the tour. All payments will be done through invoice with Debit/ Credit card & BACS available.

No, this is a private tour just for yourselves.

Yes we take financial protection very seriously and we want you to feel at ease. We use an external travel trust for all the booking payments. This is operated by external trustees who operate this on our behalf. It is totally separate from our company and we have no access to it. We provide a luxury vehicle with a chauffeur that will take you on the tour throughout. The vehicle is luxury, highly comfortable with plenty of room. It will have all the modern features you would expect.
